Once the home to an expansive pineapple farm, the land upon which El Cid is built is now a charming historic district in West Palm Beach. One of the area’s biggest draws is its prime waterfront location; the community borders the renowned Flagler Drive and offers stunning views from some of the intracoastal waterway properties.

The properties vary in age, with construction in the area (and the first homes) built in the 1920s. They offer a unique range of styles and aesthetics as a result; the architectural designs include old Florida’s unique style and Mediterranean architecture. 

The properties in the area range in size between 1400 and 5000 square feet; meanwhile, the lush and expansive gardens allow residents to soak in the beautiful Florida sun from the comfort of their private grounds. Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens

Located within the community’s borders, the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens offer a unique and relaxing day out for residents. The gardens feature many of the works and sculptures of Ann Norton and her historic home and studio.

Norton Museum of Art

Widely considered one of the most popular museums in West Palm Beach, the Norton Museum of Art’s collection features artwork from various Chinese, French, and American artists. The museum also offers a variety of exhibitions and opportunities throughout the year and multiple programs and classes for guests to enjoy.

Howard Park Community Center

The Howard Park Community Center is located close to the El Cid community and is an excellent destination for an afternoon stroll. The park is set on a total of 14 acres and features numerous opportunities and facilities. These include a community center, a children’s playground, a dog park, and multiple tennis and sporting facilities. The park’s quaint and relaxing atmosphere makes it one of the most popular parks in the region. 

Intracoastal Waterway

El Cid is located alongside the Intracoastal Palm Beach waterway, and this opens up plenty of opportunities for residents to enjoy the stunning views and scenery.

Palm Beach Day Academy

Founded in 1921, the Palm Beach Day Academy is located just on the outskirts of the El Cid West Palm Beach community. The Academy’s proximity makes the community an excellent choice for those families with young children, especially if quality education is something of utmost importance. The Academy offers an average class size of just twelve students, giving learners more one-to-one time with their teachers.

For younger students, the Academy focuses on encouraging critical thinking, public speaking skills, self-confidence, academic skills, global awareness, personal integrity, and more. Meanwhile, older students can benefit from individualized courses and support

Dining

For El Cid residents, there are plenty of great choices of establishments just outside of the community’s borders. The selection of dining opportunities in the area includes a Sushi restaurant, a specialty grilled wraps restaurant, multiple cafes, Italian dining opportunities, and more. Furthermore, there is also a tea house located just north of the community and a brewery.

Rosemary Square (formerly called CityPlace)

Rosemary Square is a massively popular shopping destination for West Palm Beach residents and visitors. It is also relatively close to the properties themselves for those living in El Cid, making it a great destination for a day out shopping.

Rosemary Square offers over 75 entertainment and shopping opportunities, as well as a large number of dining options and restaurants. Rosemary Square is widely regarded as being a pivotal part of the West Palm Beach revival, making its influence and importance clear to see.

Some of the most popular attractions in CityPlace include its selection of boutique and national shops, as well as the AMC Theater and Improv Comedy Club and Dinner Theater.

West Palm Beach
